The Air Force BallThe Air Force Ball is an annual formal celebration honoring the founding of the United States Air Force on September 18, 1947. Hosted locally by the Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) Wright Memorial Chapter (WMC) in partnership with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the event brings together service members, families, community leaders, and supporters to celebrate the proud heritage and enduring legacy of the world’s greatest Air Force. |
The Team Wright-Patt AF Ball commemorates the official birth of the United States Air Force as a separate branch of the U.S. Armed Forces—an achievement long championed by visionaries such as General Hap Arnold and General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Each year’s celebration provides an opportunity to reflect on the Air Force’s remarkable history while looking ahead to its future in air, space, and cyberspace. The evening features formal traditions, inspiring speakers, fine dining, and entertainment, all designed to honor the exceptional men and women who serve our nation with distinction.
Locally, the Dayton AF Ball has become a signature event, uniting military personnel, their families, distinguished guests, and community partners from across the Miami Valley. Together, we celebrate the innovation, dedication, and spirit that define the Air and Space Forces—and the generations of Airmen and Guardians who continue to shape America’s strategic capability.
The Air Force Ball is held each September in celebration of the Air Force’s birthday. When registration opens, details and ticket information will be available on our Events Page. Be sure to check back for updates and join us for this unforgettable evening of tradition, pride, and camaraderie.
