Advocate

The Wright Memorial Chapter achieves its mission to Advocate by holding professional networking luncheons in the Dayton area. The chapter is also a key partner in holding the annual Wright-Patterson Air Force Ball. By hosting chalets at the annual Dayton Air Show local government and community partners are brought together for a leisurely networking event.

Educate

The Wright Memorial Chapter pursues its mission to Educate by providing scholarships to local cadets and active Airmen as well as offering grants to local schools and teachers, fostering hands-on learning to inspire innovation and workforce readiness among students in the Dayton area. WMC also hosts local divisions of the AFA Air Masters, CyberPatriot and StellarXplorers Programs.

Support

The Wright Memorial Chapter Supports the Dayton Area through providing multiple awards to the defense community and distributing annual assistance to CAP, JROTC, and ROTC cadets across southwest Ohio. Additionally, the chapter's volunteer-driven initiatives extend support to local veterans by partnering with the Dayton VA Medical Center and Wright State's Veterans Center.

    The Air & Space Forces Association (AFA) Wright Memorial Chapter (WMC) is honored to welcome Ms. Jackie Janning-Lask, CEO of MMEC, as our distinguished guest speaker at the upcoming luncheon on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. 






    Ms. Jackie Janning-Lask is the Chief Executive Officer of Midwest Microelectronics Consortium (MMEC). Prior to her current role she served in the Senior Executive Service (SES) as the Director of Engineering and Chief Engineer of the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, where she led over 6,000 engineers in the acquisition, sustainment, and testing of USAF aircraft, engines, munitions, electronic, and business systems.  She was also the USAF Technical Airworthiness Authority and led the transformation to digital engineering in support of rapid capability maturation, delivery, and readiness.

    Ms. Janning-Lask holds a B.S. and M.S. degree in Systems Engineering from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She was selected to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Sloan Fellow, graduating with an MBA in 2004. She retired from the Air Force in July 2023.


    Ms. Janning-Lask will provide an overview of MMEC and her endeavors to accelerate onshore development within manufacturing of advanced technology.

    Evening Screening, 10 April at 6:30PM

    Free Evening Screening of “The Last Full Measure” — a film inspired by Pitsenbarger’s story, 10 April at 6:30PM. Begins with movie production notes at 6:40 by Dr. Ronald “Jake” Clark and Adam Carr. Both were advisors to the Director Todd Robinson. Jake Clark is a US Army Veteran, served with the U.S. Secret Service, the Los Angeles Police Department, and as a special agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Adam Carr is a U.S. Army Combat Veteran and Special Forces Green Beret. During his military tenure, he undertook missions in counterterrorism, intelligence gathering, and diplomatic engagement. He deployed extensively supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

    This film is rated "R" for language common to stressful and combat environments (it is not gratuitous), as well as recreated combat scenes. Attendees under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
